Titan Owners Club (UK) Titan Walk - 2021

Today’s post is about the recent TOC (UK) 2021 Titan Walk.  It was an amazing day and it’s mostly arranged by the Battle Bunny And TOC founder Drake Seta and partner (Instagram Honey_the_Destroyer89), though myself and some others also helped with Scenery.

The event started Friday with a set up and then a drink in the bar, followed by setting up titans and then a view around the event room.

Above: The gaming mat.

Below: part of the initial set up. This was around half the Titans.  For  more images see Titan Owners Club’s blog.

The next day had the last engines and Princeps arrive, a final Line up of engines and meet a greet with the newly arrived Princeps.

Above is my Maniple arrayed for combat.  I lent out a couple of knight lancers, but more on them later.

Day one was an interesting scrap against Ignatum, Atarus, and Gryphonicus Engines.  My maniple suffered badly under their the guns losing a warlord, two reavers and two warhounds. In return I manage two reavers.  It was bloody, scrappy affair. Ultimately, I was hampered by hills obscuring my fields of fire, so my heaviest engine struggled to engage.

Above: The combined forces of Ignatum, Atarus, and Gryphonicus pound the Tempest Maniple.

Day two was more successful, facing off against Metallica (fellow blogger http://kaijucountry.blogspot.com/ ), Legio Xestobiax, Legio Astorum, and a fearsome Titan of the Ordo sinister.

Despite my initial failure to issue any orders whatsoever ever, I ultimately managed to claim a Warlord.  Bellator Ferrum managed to bring the shields down on a trio of Warhounds, opening the way for a Mortis warlord to turn two of them into slag a moment later.  One of my Warlords targeted an enemy Titan with its volcano cannon.  It missed and the blast scattered (3 foot) onto an enemy knight banner. Unfortunatley, it also nearly wiped out an allied knights banner too! The final toll was both warhounds lost, one to a lancer, the second to the ordo sinister!

In another part of the battlefield my Makabius lancers, working in support of a Mortis Reaver, managed to bring down a Warhound.  Another amazing kill on my Legio Banner.

It was a really fun event and I can’t wait until the 4th September when we are running an exhibition game as the Greeting from the Warp event near Northampton.  Titan Owners Club members are an amazing bunch of people!!

Adeptus Titanicus Teaser

I've just got back from the Horus Heresy Weekender 2017.  Was a really good event and I meet a bunch of really cool people.

I have promised a Drake Seta to do a write up of the the Adeptus Titanicus game I played on Saturday.  The opposition (loyalist) was lead by the notorious King fluff!  The Traitors of Mortis and my Legio Tempestus Reaver were in opposition.  Here's a teaser from the start of the battle!

Just in case you are wondering, the rule set is amazing 😉!

Bellator Ferrum Ready for War

Today's post is showing my Reaver.  This has been a long labour of love for the last 18months or so.  It's still not finished, but he is ready to wage war against his brother Titans on Sunday at the weekender. The light was poor, so only a few pics.  I will get more over the weekend.

Bellator Ferrum, nearing completion

Today's post is about my Reaver Titan, Bellator Ferrum.  This is a Titan from Legio Tempestus prior to and during the Horus Heresy.  Why the post now?  Well I want to take this lump of resin up to the weekender.  There is a participation game of the new Adeptus Titanicus rules on the Sunday Morning.

Ideally I would take a Warlord, but they are too far from completion.  I certainly wouldn't take the Beast, as the puny Warhound will likely die quickly in my unpracticed hands.

So I have since my last post, attached the leg and hip armours.  Painted the rear carapace and sealed the front on to the torso.  I think one more day and he's game ready.  I will still need to weather and oil wash the model later.  But I really want transfers...

On to the pictures (sorry for the quality, taken from my iPad)

Finally, Do you guys have any questions you want me to ask at the weekender?

Reaver Titan - Update

I've been working on my Reaver recently, the legs are now painted, as are most of the trims, pistons and a bit more weathering.  It's nearly at the point I can attach some of his armour plates.  I'm glossing the armour plates ready for transfers and the oil wash.  The main thin outstanding is the rear carapace...

I'm think of commissioning some Tempestus transfers, as I have no confidence that these will come until the Mars book, and even then, they need to cover a load of Legions.  Does anyone have any ideas of a good designer?  Let me know in the comments!

Reaver Titan - Princep

I've finished the Princep of my Reaver Titan, Bellum Ferrum.  As yet he is un-named as I stole his original name for the Princep of my Mars Warlord Alpha pattern head.

Legio Tempestus sound good with a Roman first name, then a Russian surname.  Any ideas for names?

After taking the photo, I noticed the wire on his left solider was unpainted.  This is now red.

Reaver Titan, another internal shot

This is some of the work I did tonight.  I also did the head lenses, and did more work on the internals of the cock pit.  I've only painted a few gems before, but and never screens.  They have more contrast in real life.  I like the idea that the mechanicum use green screens. I think they came out well.

Tomorrow, I want to get the sevitors painted and glued and install the panels and finish the head (minus crew).  Part of me is wondering why I'm bothering though, but I'm enjoying it so much.

Reaver Titan Getting There!

Just a quick post to update on the Reaver Progress.  The back section, internal detailing and the new weapon have all undercoated.  Paint is now going on the body.  I'm hoping to get this model finished this month.

The internals underway:

Now the crew, still work to do on these:

Finally, the model as it stands:

Doubt - Fan fiction

Rain lashed the rubble strewn streets of Jornsberg.  Battles had raged over the ruins of a city once said to be the most beautiful in the whole sector.  Over the last few months the town had been under loyalist control and now housed the command headquarters, but this was increasingly threatened.  The arrival of Legio Tempestus had at first been welcomed as valuable support, but that welcome was no longer warm.

"What should I do?"

The question, always the same question, had been raging in his mind for weeks.  News had come only a month ago of the death at the hand of Legio Mortis of his friend and mentor Indias Cavalerio, the Storm Lord and Grand Master of the Legio.  He was shocked by the treachery of legio mortis, long hated rivals of Legio Tempestus.  The two Legio had come to blows in the past, if never so destructively.  While that news was terrible, and rightly demanded retribution, more cataclysmic news followed.

The Warlord Titan ‘Custodi tempestas’ stood motionless as a statue.  The rain hammered on the carapace creating a fine mist.  Fractured blue and checker board livery streamed with water.  The Ultramarines and Solar Auxilla working in the defensive works stared up with a mixture of both hope and mistrust.  Legio Tempestus, were no longer trusted.

A battered cruiser of the Salamanders Astartes Legion had arrived six days ago bearing worse news from Istvaan V.  The treachery of Horus put the treachery of Legio Mortis in a new light.  Worse news of the betrayal of Maximus Karania made the Princeps doubt there own course.  If Karania was following Horus, maybe his cause was just?  Much of the rogue battle group, including Karania he considered friends, even if his demi legio's redeployment to Orestes had been unexpected.  Now he knew his loyalty, and the loyalty of all the remaining legio, was suspect.  Maybe rightly so.  The salamanders had fled before the coming storm and the Titans had been ordered to the reserve, powered down but on station.

"What should I do?"  The though came unbidden again.  Angrily he studied the sensors.

A cry went up from the battle lines.  Tiny dots were visible across the horizon.  Faint sensations could be felt through the ground.  Artillery started to fire, dozens of Basilisks shelling the area the enemy had been sighted.  Visibility across the Jorn plain was reduced.  Lorenzo, Captain of the Ultramarine Legion and commander in chief of the forces at Jornberg, directed a large column of solar Auxilla tanks out, more than a hundred tanks of the Leman Russ and Malcador classes rolled out.  They disappeared from view quickly, soon the sounds of a desperate fire fight could be heard above the bombardment.

"Princep, Captain Lorenso asks us to remain on station until the enemy are in the kill zone." Came the disembodied voice of his Senior Moderatii Titus.  He enhanced the auto senses to maximum.  The lead Titan was visible now, a Warlord clad in the same fractured Azure armour as the Decimus's own force.  He knew Titans were present in the region, but the presence of other Legio Tempestus Titans had been concealed from him.

Troops and tanks swarmed around the feet of the traitor Titans feet.  Their continued March could be felt strongly through the ground now.  It was now clear a further seven Titans of Reaver and Warlord Classes were visible behind the first.  The lead warlord bore a large banner which Decimus recognised as belonging to the Warlord, 'Imperious Maximus' bearing the Eye of the arch traitor was moving into the kill zone.  The traitors Warhorns roared.

The sky started to rumble, as if in answer to the challenge.

"What should I do?" Desperate, Decimus clutched the Throne Mechanicum.  the solidity of the great command seat offered little comfort.

Two dozen Ultramarine landraiders went hull down in the mud to turn there weapons on the great metal beasts.  The act was futile and the traitor Titans return fire boiled the mighty tanks to vapour.  From trenches, Astartes Legionaries and Solar Auxilla poured disciplined fire on the enemy Titans and troops as one by one, the trenches were overrun.  Now was the time to act, but for who?  Who was right?

"Omissisah give me a sign!" He cried aloud, tears rolling down his face.

A single arch of lightening split the sky, striking the 'Imperious Maximus's' banner pole.  The banner burst into fire, quickly turning to ash.  The sign was given, the Ommissah had not forgotten them.

Decimus took a breath and switched on the master vox.  " ‘Custodi tempestas’  To demi Legio, your target is marked, commence bombardment".  Twenty battle Titans powered their reactors, raised shields and readied there weapons.

The doubt was over.  There were friends to avenge.  An Imperium to save.

It was the traitors turn to die...

This was original written for the Forgeworld Win a Titan 2016 Competition.  Unfortunately it was far too long so I though I would share it.

Reaver Titan

Hi all, another update on my Reaver Titan Bellator Ferrum.  I've been hard at work on various armour panel trims.  I think I've made a fair bit of progress, but most trims need a second coat.

The Aquila is currently just lead belcher and washed with nuln oil.  I think I'll use a (careful) dry brush of brass and rub silver on it to make the silver pop.

Hopefully I'll get to my FLGS to pick up some more chaos black spray (or whatever they call it now) and then I can get the missiles, cod piece, new laser blaster arm, internal details and rear torso under coated.  I feel I have nearly broken the back of the model, at least to get it game ready, so I'm going to push on to completion!

I'm enjoying this so much that I actually want another Reaver now.

Reaver Titan

Ok, a quick post.  My Reaver, Bellator Ferrum, has two arms again albeit one is plain resin.

Sorry for the crappy quality photo, but you get the idea.

I've also started painting the trim.

Reaver Titan

I'm starting to get my mojo back.  Today, I want to share some progress on my Reaver Titan, Bellator Ferrum.  The main panels are getting there.  The camo is done on these. I still need to weather, but this can wait for the long awaited Legio Tempestus transfers to be released.

Next is painting trims and leg metals and lots and lots of trims.  After that I'm going to be building the second reaver laser blaster so I have two arms again.

I will be doing some more work my Alpha legion too.

What do you guys think?

It's getting tedious now!

I got home from work today and was confronted with this...

So I'm up to the third time I need to repair this bloody, annoying, stupid arm.  Half tempted just to bin it now.

House Makabius, Part 6

Another quick post tonight.  This evening, me and my loyal hounds, journeyed to sorting office to pick up my box of paint.   As soon as I got home, I got the brushes out and hit the Acheron.  Here's what I finished with tonight.  Still have a lot of train on the chain fist, but getting most of the trim has started making the model pop.  The gold isn't as light as I had hoped, but I think it works well.  What do you think?

The vanquished dreadnaught is starting to get colour too.  Blue colours, who could that be?

Argh, forgot to drill the exhausts....  I need to fix it....

And if you wonder what I did last night? ....

Reaver Titan update

Titan Name: 'Bellator ferrea' (Warrior of Iron)

This is an update to my Reaver Titan from Legio Tempestus.  I have been busy with building and painting over the Christmas break.  Hopefully the pictures are tolerable.  The are from my iPad.

Hopefully these pictures give a good indication of where the paint scheme is going.  I have a second laser blaster as well, I really can't see the point of the Titan CCW atm other than rule of cool. The knights CCW have far better rules.
