3D printing scifi shipping containers - Part 3

Continuing on from the previous posts, I've now printed a few test pieces.  There are still a few tweaks to make as I resize various components.  The first bit actually finished is the doors.  I'm quite chuffed at how these have turned out.

Second one is on the printer.  This is printed at 200 microns, so not a high res print.  Took just over 2hours.

3D printing scifi shipping containers - Part 2

Following from my last post, I've made some progress with the design on the shipping containers.

These are the 'finished' parts, I'm tempted to revise the leg sections as they are maybe a bit leggy and the top rollers are a little redundant at the moment.  I may also narrow the armoured mid sections a little to give the Grimdark™ boxy squareness.

The first print section is on the printer now.  I suspect it will need a little rescaling.

I'm also thinking designing a smaller version of the mid section connector with no legs for small shipping containers.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Getting back to the blog or 3D printing scifi shipping containers - Part 1

Sorry for my prolonged absence, normal service will restart soon, in the mean time, here's a couple of images of something I'm working on..

I still need to detail the doors and build some stilts. I may shrink the overall length a bit, currently it's 11.6 cm so maybe a bit long, but will be modular so you can add extra sections.  I'm hoping to get a test print out this week!

What do you guys think?
